Our Doctor

​​​​​Dr. Jessica Trichel has been practicing high-level care optometry for over ten years.  Dr. Trichel received her Doctorate of Optometry in 2012 from IAUPR School of Optometry.  She received her Bachelor of Science from LSU-Shreveport in 2008 and is a 2004 graduate of Queen City High School.

Dr. Trichel sees patients of all ages but has a true passion for ocular disease management, which is most prevalent in the geriatric population.  She has extensive experience in retina and medical optometric care.  Her favorite aspect of her job is getting to know people and their families, and being able to help them maintain their sight throughout their life. Dr. Trichel is a member of the Texas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Women for the Arts, and Women for A&M Texarkana.

She is married to Mike Smith and the couple have two young daughters: Caroline and Kate. Dr. Trichel most enjoys spending time with her family.  She can also be found working with her flowers, enjoying a boat ride, snow skiing, or traveling anywhere with good food and good friends.
